Grizzly Bookz Publishing
SUBMISSIONS

After we read your query and the first 20 pages, and then notify you that we will publish your book, you may submit your manuscript in the font with which you are most comfortable. Remember that Courier New in 12 point is easy to read and editors love a manuscript in it, BUT it will make your book considerably larger and cost you accordingly. Many 6 X 9 books with 300 pages or more are in Times New Roman 10 OR 11 point and read nicely. For a smaller book we recommend Times New Roman 12 point.
SUGGESTION—
Go to a bookstore and compare the print to a sheet from your manuscript.

If your book was accepted for publication, then we suggest you format the book to the following specifications.

~Formatting requirements for Authors~

  • Title should be in 24-point bold type and centered below in 12 point and centred. Example below.

  • Author's name below by-line in 18-point type and centered.

  • Chapter Headings should be centered.Example below.

  • A common font is Times New Roman because it's easy to read. Most books are in 12 point because the words are easy to follow. Body text should be single-spaced. Only one space between sentences, not two spaces.

  • When you decide what size you want your book to be, we will send you a blank Microsoft Word Doc for you to put the text in.

  • Use five spaces for indentation.

  • Do not use indent. (Hit the space bar three times to begin a new chapter) The indent option will throw the asterisks separating scenes and the chapter headings off center.

  • Paragraph format: select justification Ctrl+J

  • No blank lines between paragraphs, except for a scene change.

  • Always use italic text for thoughts.
Example: I am working on a million dollar best seller, he thought. When it's obvious who is speaking or thinking eliminating the HE SAID-- SHE SAID, and the book will read much better and not bog down the reader.

  • Do not place quotation marks around thoughts.

  • Use hyphenation sparingly, and if you do not know how to create — a long dash like this, we’ll show you how. Used correctly it can add to the readability of the book. Do not over punctuate..... a very common error.

  • After you have decided on the font and letter point size, then send us the page count so we can give you an estimate.

  • Select the size that you want the book to be in. 5 x 7 OR 6 x 9.
REMEMBER: The larger the book, the more it will cost to print and ship by you to customers or others for your promotional efforts.
SUGGESTION: Look at books in bookstores to determine this.

  • If you have a cover already completed by an artist, and decide to publish with us, you can send it later as an attachment OR hard copy . If you do not, then a cover can be provided.

Title example:

THE STORM

BY

Gerald Brown

Chapter heading example:

Chapter 5

THE TIDE IS RISING

NOTE: We offer limited editing at a very low cost, compared to the extremely high cost available elsewhere. BUT you will be responsible for the manuscript. We will help you in every way that we can. We exist solely for the purpose of providing authors who can create a ready-to-go manuscript,(with a little help from us)and are willing to promote it themselves; a less expensive method to get their book(s) published. After the cost to get your book in print, and shipping them to you, we charge only A-BUCK-A-BOOK. That's correct. One dollar per book. Why so cheap? We've been asked that many times.

As you have probably seen, most ego-publishers will print anything that you send them as long as you’re willing to pay a lot of your hard earned money for it. WE WON’T.You will need to send us a good book that is well written, edited, and interesting,OR we’ll not get involved. We don’t recommend any of the ego-publishers because you’ll have no trouble locating one—there are now many of them.

The minimum amount that we’ll print is 500 copies. Sounds like a lot, doesn't it? We will print 500 copies for you at a price that you’ll find hard to believe after you've heard the quotes from the SP gang, and if you do not have enough confidence in your work, and your ability to promote it, then you’ll feel better giving one of the many ego publishers about the same amount of money for 100 copies. We don’t tell you that we’ll get your book listed with all of the major booksellers because that would be a smoke screen to keep you from seeing us reach into your pocket and grab a handful of money. If that’s what you want for your book, then it will be lying beside thousands (millions)of other books that will never be seen again. The only way anyone can ever get a copy is to have the ISBN number and ask for your book specifically. When they do that, you will be sick when you find out how little money you get for each copy sold.

With GBP you pay the printing cost with no add-ons, the price of the ISBN/Bar Code + 10% , and ONE-BUCK-A-BOOK. We list it on our web site and inform the reader where they can order a copy from you. We’ll tell you where to order the necessary box or envelope to mail the book in, and you keep the lion’s share of the money as every author should.
